How the fuel refill calculation works
The calculator uses a simple percentage-to-volume formula: required fuel = tank capacity × (desired level - current level) / 100. If you also enter a price, the cost is required fuel × price per unit.
Unlike trip-cost tools that need distance and mileage, this calculator answers a simpler question: how much fuel fits between the level you have now and the level you want. That makes it useful for partial fill-ups on a budget, topping up before a long drive, or keeping fleet refills consistent. It works the same for gasoline and diesel.

50 L × (75% - 25%) = 25 L
A 50 liter tank going from 25% to 75% needs 25 liters.

How do I calculate how much fuel I need?
Subtract your current fuel percentage from your desired percentage and multiply that difference by tank capacity. A 60 liter tank going from 30% to 70% needs 24 liters.
Does it work for gallons in the United States?
Yes. Select US Gallons. The calculator converts with 1 US gallon equal to 3.785411784 liters and shows the refill amount in gallons.
Can I estimate the cost of gas or petrol?
Yes. Enter the price per liter or price per gallon, choose your currency, and click Calculate Cost. The result is an estimate before taxes, discounts or station-specific fees.
